Growing up in Central Georgia I was a member of 4H and Future Farmers of America. During this time, I was really fascinated with entomology. The next 40 years of my life had me travelling all over the world as a military member and was never able to start beekeeping. About 7 years ago I was at the point where I could finally realize that dream! I usually have between 15-20 hives. I find more than that is more work than a hobby! I am a member and current officer at my local beekeeper club, the Rappahannock Beekeepers Association. I am a certified Virginia Master Nationalist and a member of both the Virginia Bluebird Society, the Izaak Walton League of American and my local American Legion. I love discussing bees.
